Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Congratulations on helping Utah become the top state in economic outlook for the 13th year in a row. The people of the great state of Utah have made it a pretty incredible place to live and work. Utah entered the health crisis with a vibrant economy, record-low unemployment, and the title of best state for entrepreneurs. This healthy economic outlook will help us bounce back from the pandemic. It will take hard work, dedication, and a willingness to offer a helping hand to those most affected by the virus.

The graph below shows Utah’s ICU capacity from May 1 through August 12:

The graph below shows Utah’s COVID-19 curve status from June 16 through August 12. While daily case counts are not the most useful indicator of risk to the state, they can provide perspectives on trends. Data from last week shows that cases are beginning to decline. However, this does not mean we should ease up but maintain our efforts and continue to wear masks and practice beneficial hygiene measures.
