Government Oversite Committee

Chair

Newly organized in 2026 by Senator McCay for the primary purpose of providing true oversite.

The General Oversight Committee examines administrative rules and government operations to ensure transparency, accountability, and alignment with legislative intent. It reviews how laws are implemented, identifies inefficiencies, and works to stop waste, fraud, and abuse, helping keep state agencies responsible and effective.

Senate Revenue and Taxation Standing Committee

Chair

The Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee reviews legislation related to the state’s tax structure, revenue generation, and fiscal policy. It considers bills involving income, sales, and property taxes, as well as tax credits, exemptions, and economic incentives, with a focus on maintaining a fair, efficient, and competitive tax system that supports Utah’s budget and long-term economic growth.
